NashVogue CONTEST: Teething Bling

Many of my readers know that I have a special little someone in my life. Any other moms out there will know how hard it is to wear jewelry with little people in your life. Especially when they are teething, like my little guy is. That’s how I heard about Teething Bling by Smart Mom Jewelry.

Teething Bling Jewelry is made from soft silicone, and is free from all the harsh chemicals we want out little ones to stay away from. Best of all, it’s dishwasher safe! Available in two different necklace styles (donut and heart), bracelets, and key chains, as well as a wide assortment of colors, there is something to match nearly every outfit you might want to wear it with. Not to mention it is a stylish alternative to simply not wearing any jewelry at all.

When I first opened the Teething Bling, I was impressed with the weight of it. Relatively lightweight, I was expecting something much heavier. The construction is very nice, with few visible seams (a common problem with silicone products).

The first thing my son did when I picked him up with it on ws play with it. He didn’t really do to much with it, but I could tell he was curious. The necklace proved it’s worth, however, when I went to put him in his carseat, normally a terrible and unhappy time. The length of the necklace was perfect to dangle right in front of him. He played and chewed on it the entire time, making this one of the few times he did not fight going into his carseat. Additionally, the clasp in back is snap closure, meaning it can be pulled off of your neck without break the clasp or strings.

The only drawback I had to the jewelry (I have the bracelet as well) was the rapid pace at which it collected dust. Even while wearing it during the day, I noticed bits of dust collect on the silicone pieces. One of the perils of silicone I suppose, but when you know it is going into a little one’s mouth, not a pleasant one.

Still, overall, I think it is a great product for any mom. In fact, when I mentioned to the company that I was a blogger, they sent extras! Lucky for you! I’m going to give away the other two sets of Teething Bling (Jade and Bronze). Each set contains a donut-shaped pendant and matching bracelet.  All you have to do is now through Easter (April 12), post a comment on this thread telling me why you and your little one would love to have some teething bling. Maybe even post a picture of you and your little one. The other way is to let others know about the contest through Twitter. Simply post the link to this article and use the hashtag #TeethingBling. One winner will be randomly selected using each method (so there are two chances for you to win!)

Good Luck!

My 7 month old always wants to chew on my fingers, whitch is fine whlie i'm home and know they are clean. But when we are out and touching all kinds of things, Yuck! If she is anything like her sister it will take her weeks to cut a tooth. This looks like a great product, I would love this.

I can't wear any of my regular jewelry around my 7 1/2 month old without her trying to "eat" them (not even my rings!!). I would love to have something like this so that I could feel at least a little bit fashionable again.

This is such a great idea. I feel naked because I can not wear my usual necklaces! I'm afraid my babies will rip them off!

I didn't even know (until now that is) that teething jewelry existed, that's awesome! I have an 8 month old daughter who has been teething since 3 months, and still has no teeth, but she wants to chew on everything. I used to wear jewelry, but just gave up on it, since she always tugged at my earrings, and pulled on my necklace. So this is a great idea, would love to win some teething bling!
  • I am about to have my third baby and I have thought about this problem with the previous two. I have given and just not worn any necklaces. So, this is a great alternative! Maybe I will get to wear a necklace this time around!

My son is 8-months-old and doesn't have any teeth yet. He would love this. He chews on everything. Plus, it would give him something to hang on to other than my hair!
  • Looks cool! I say I have to agree about it collecting dust. Wouldn't be ideal for the baby's mouth. But then again I swear my kid eats more dirt than she does food. Goofy baby!

Hi, I'm from babycenter and I think this sounds interesting..You've found something to keep your baby from screaming everytime you put him in his carseat, I'm impressed. My little one has been teething sinjce he was 2 months, but still has no teeth..He also can not stand his carseat, still.

I saw these back when I was preggo with my baby and honestly thought, "na, who wants their little ones chewing on their jewelry!" Well let me tell ya my thoughts have changed. She pulls on and tries to chew on them anyways so why not have something that she CAN chew on to get through this uncomfortable time. So far we have two bottom teeth and a long ways to go.....I'd love to have some of this jewelry!
    Great idea!!!

I was just thinking about this on Sunday, when my 7 month old daughter was constantly pulling on my necklace during church! I would love to have something that is safe for her to play with, stylish, and won't break!! Like you, I hate having to try to keep her hands off. What an excellent idea!! Love the product!!
