The Smokey eye has and always will be a great evening look for eye makeup. With different color options available, there is a way to make it work with any outfit. Here is a great video to help you achieve this hot summer look.
Eyeliner seems like such a simple tool. But when you go to the store to shop for it, there are so many different types and colors. It can be overwhelming. However, eyeliner is a great way to help your eyes stand out and make a statement of their own.
I’ve never been able to tan. I’m one of those pasty white girls of North European heritage that burns, freckles, and still remains pasty white once the blisters heal. I’ve tried a lot of sunless tanners and have finally found one I like.
Olay’s Touch of Sun is the best of all the sunless tanning products I have tried, and, without naming names, some have been just plain bad! Olay’s product leaves a soft, natural looking tan over the course of about a week when you apply it diligently everyday. Touch of Sun is also a lotion and helps to keep skin soft and hydrated during a season when you spend a lot of time in the sun.
One of the major things I look for in a sunless tanner is whether I will be orange in the morning. Touch of Sun does a great job of not turning you orange as long as you make sure to rub it in completely and evenly. If you are a bit sloppy in the application, you might see some orange streaks. Also, be sure to wash your hands after you apply the lotion. Failure to do so will leave your hands a bit on the orange side, but a little soap and water to wash off any excess will go along way to leave your hands their normal color.
Another aspect I love about Touch of Sun is the shades it comes in. There is a lotion for light, medium, and dark skin tones. Basically, there is something for everyone.
No girl likes to have blindingly bright skin for the summer. If you, like me, don’t tan or simply don’t want to take on the risk of natural tanning, I highly recommend Olay Touch of Sun.

Something that can be make-it-or-break-it for you makeup appearance is your eyeliner. Too much can be very overpowering. If it is done correctly, eyeliner can make your eyes stand out and enhance their color. That being said, I’ll leave it to the experts. Here is a great video on how to apply eyeliner by MakeupGeekTV on youtube.com. It’s a bit lengthy, but I found it very informative and helpful. Enjoy and good luck!
Good day, all! As you may have noticed from some of my tweets, I have been helping out with a charity event in my hometown of Montgomery, AL. As a result, I have not been able to write an article today! However, I did not want you lovely readers of mine to feel forsaken! So, I found a great article over at stylebakery.com that I hope you will enjoy.
The article is in their “ask us” section and answers the question of a woman who feels uncomfortable wearing heels. I know there are many women out there nervous about wearing heels. I was one of them a while back, but now I love wearing them! In fact, I was in a similar position as this woman. Except, instead of being taller than my friends when I wore heels, I was taller than my friends when they wore heels! Which, of course, made me even taller when I wore heels.
I think heels are a great way to pull together and dress up any outfit. Hopefully, this article at stylebakery.com will help you overcome your fears. (Look at the end for a great “How to Walk in Heels” video!) Enjoy!
My mother never wore much make-up, so when I reached that age where young ladies decide it is time to wear make-up, I didn’t really have someone to teach me how. I learned eventually, thanks to shows like What Not to Wear and the ever gorgeous, Carmindy. The one thing that scared me the most to try was mascara. I thought for the maiden post in Health and Beauty, how to apply mascara would be great. I will leave it to a YouTube expert, as to this day, it still scares me. Do you have any tips or tricks of your own??
Ah…the uni-brow. The reason women subject themselves to high levels of pain and redness in order to remove this unsightly bit of hair. You know what I am talking about…the eyebrow BETWEEN the eyebrows. The reason Bert from Sesame Street looks like he has a caterpillar above his eyes. Most women know to tame their uni-brow, however, many men let it just grow on.
Well, men, you too must take care of your uni-brow! It is common misconception that men don’t need to take care of that patch of hair between the eyes. By the way, there is a great letter to the editor at askmen.com about this very issue.
You can eliminate the uni-brow just like women. You can get them waxed by a professional or pluck them yourself. Speaking as a woman, I have done both. I think the best thing for you to do to make sure you don’t go crazy with the tweezers is to go to a salon and get them waxed the first time. Don’t be embarrassed, many men do it! After that maintenance with tweezers is easy.
And women…make sure to maintain your brows! You especially need to ensure that, as Michael Cain said in Miss Congeniality, “Eyebrows. There should be two!”
