Easter Outfit for Her

Shopping for an Easter outfit is probably most stressful on the woman. The options are endless, as are the silhouettes, patterns, and colors. Throw in the need for shoes and accessories, and shopping for an Easter outfit can be a highly stressful event. I even found a dress i liked, then went to another store and found one I liked better. I ended up taking the first back. I still have to find shoes and accessories to match. It can simply be a stressful event.

As with the guy in the family, how dressed up you get depends on where you are going. If it is a casual family event, don’t stress out too much. Some cute Bermuda shorts with a matching top makes a great outfit. Pair it with some cute wedges and simply jewelry for a family-friendly casual outfit.

If it is a casual church you are going to, consider a sundress or skirt with matching top. Capris and a blouse are another great option. Pair any of these outfits with some great sandals and accessories and you’ve got it made.

A formal church is where it gets more difficult. A dress is the most common outfit, but is also the hardest to fit. If you find a dress you love, but the fit is off a bit, simply get it tailored to fit. You can go the separates route, with a skirt and blouse. Simply pick a skirt that is dressy enough for the occasion. Classic, heeled sandals and matching accessories will complete the ensemble.

Don’t stress too much about the outfit. Find something you love, are comfortable in, and know you will wear again. I picked out a great dress from New York and Company that will work perfectly for going to church with my family and later on for a date night with my husband. I still have to find the shoes and accessories, but I just keep reminding myself the sales get better the closer it gets to Easter.

Your Personal Style: Casual Chic

To round out the series on Personal Style, let’s discuss the laid back Casual Chic. For her, comfort is key. Often she is athletic or a mommy. She chooses this style to fit her lifestyle instead of choosing a lifestyle in line with her fashion.

The Clothes

Casual Chic’s clothes are going to be the ultimate in comforatble. The primary fabric used will be cotton due it’s lightweight nature and softness. Her bottoms will more than likely be denim or cotton. Jeans and yoga-style pants are staples in her wardrobe.

Her tops a easy-going. She opts for t-shirts and tanks over blouses. The tops themselves will be low frill with barely a ruffle or bow in sight.

Accessories will be simple. The biggest accessory you’ll see with be the sunglasses she perches a top her head when she walks inside. Tennis shoes and flip flops are her favorite shoes, although you might see some flats on dressier days.

What the Clothes Say

Casual Chic is laid back and “cool”. She doesn’t care too much about what other people think or what’s “hot” in the fashion world. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t care about her appearance or herself. It simply means she doesn’t buy into trends and wear what she wants – what makes her feel comfortable.

That wraps up the personal style series. My personal style is a bit of a mix between Fashionista, Casual, and Boho with a little bit of everything else. My wardrobe is a bit eclectic – stylish sweaters next to a stack of t-shirts, boho skirts next to black pencil skirt. I would love to know what your personal style is. Christmas Party Series: Casual (Him)

For some reason, this series has been hard to complete. With everything going on this Christmas season, it’s just been hard to keep posting! But, we comes to a close with casual dress for him.

Casual comes easy for most men. Jeans and a t-shirt are typical, but you might want to consider other alternatives. One option is a sweater. There are some great half-zip sweater out there this year that look great on just about any man.

Another option (if you are younger) is to pair your t-shirt with an open button up. I say this is good if you are younger, because this is popular with the young men’s styles now. As with women who were styles that are popular for teen girls, you don’t want to dress outside of what is appropriate.

Finally, you can go back to the polo or button up shirt. Choose a fun color or pattern to make this a more casual look.

Day To Night: As with the woman’s casual look, it is hard to make this an easy transition if your office is business professional. It will probably be easiest to simply pack the extra outfit. If your office is business casual, you could get away with just wearing what you wear to work. if you want to dress down even more, take a pair of jeans with you and just wear the shirt you went to work in.

Christmas Party Series: Casual (Her)

We’re almost to the end of our Christmas party series. This is the last dress level to discuss. (By the way, sorry no post yesterday, NashVogue had a touch of the flu!)

A casual dress code for her can mean a lot of fun. You could do jeans and a sweater, or you could take it as a license to have a little fun. Jeans with a fun and funky top make for a great outfit. Pair this with some fun (maybe sparkly) flats, and a casual bag to dress it down. Have a little fun! A casual dress code means your hostess doesn’t really mind what you wear. This is your chance to show off a little of your own fashion style. Just as a word of caution – if you are one who likes to dress “up”, you may be the only one there in a cocktail dress and stilettos.

Day to Night: There is not a very easy way to go day to night on this. Pack the extra outfit. If you can get away with it, were the top to work with slacks or under your suit. Just make sure you are within the confines of your work dress code.
